Exit Strategy
1)
Because my business will be able to run itself
and I will most likely be able to be run on my spare time I plan on holding
onto the business as long as it is profitable. My end goal would be that the
money I get from this business I am able to pay off the mortgage to the
property without having to put any of my personal finances in. If everything
goes well I will eventually look to sell off the property of the garage lot
when the real estate market is hot.
2)
Because my business is going to be much
different from traditional a traditional business I plan on holding it for a
while. The main reason is that it won’t be time consuming and it’s a way to
have extra money coming in each year.
3)
I believe I came into this project with the
mentality that I wanted a business that could be self-managed and have minimal
costs. I know exactly how big the business can grow and the risks
involved.
Final Reflection
Overall I
have enjoyed this course and feel that taking it my senior year was a great
fit. After looking through my old posts I’ve come to realize that this class
was not what I expected it to be. I would have never thought that an
entrepreneurship class would involve starting a blog and writing posts every
week. Nonetheless this was the best way for this class to be done and the
experience was great. One of my favorite assignments in this class was the
reading reflections especially the second one. If it was not for this class I
probably would have never read Scott Adams book “How to Fail at Almost
Everything and Still Win Big”. This book was amazing and was an inspiration for
me. The book taught me valuable lessons on failure and to never give up chasing
your dreams in business or personal. I feel that I have gained insight on what
it’s like to be an entrepreneur and will have the tools and class experience to
help guide me when my time actually comes. I wouldn’t classify myself as an
entrepreneur or anywhere close to that. I feel that in order to be an
entrepreneur you need to actually get your hands dirty and just do it. When it comes to the next students to take
this course I think its most important that they grasp the idea of busy work
needs to get done early. The best way to go about this class is to start on
Monday and do a little bit each day. When you wait last minute for assignments
life becomes stressful, and that’s something we can all avoid. All in all I
really enjoyed reading my groups posts and have a great winter break!

Hey Conner,
ReplyDeleteI think that is a great goal. Ive often heard that, for one to be rich, they must learn how to make money while they sleep. Having a business that basically runs itself sounds like just the right way. I believe that if you have that revenue stream, along with a few others, you would be able to just relax while you reap the benefits from your many revenue streams. Great post!
Conner,
ReplyDeleteI too enjoyed this class and feel that the reading assignments taught me quite a bit of useful information. You reference that you aren't truly an entrepreneur until you get your hands dirty and just do it. I love this phrasing and I agree whole heartedly. There is no secret to becoming a successful entrepreneur. It is simply a matter of going for it and learning from your mistakes along the way. You clearly understand that and do a good job of showing it in this post.
Conner,
ReplyDeleteI agree with Morgan's post above me, the reading assignments also taught me quite a bit of information that I can apply in my future endeavors. It is one thing to have the entrepreneurial mindset, but it is a whole other animal to go out and execute your plan, and execute successfully. Just take that leap of faith! It will be worth it in the end.
