Final Reflection

Image
* I accidentally posted my final reflection with my Exit Strategy Post.         Overall I have enjoyed this course and feel that taking it my senior year was a great fit. After looking through my old posts I’ve come to realize that this class was not what I expected it to be. I would have never thought that an entrepreneurship class would involve starting a blog and writing posts every week. Nonetheless this was the best way for this class to be done and the experience was great. One of my favorite assignments in this class was the reading reflections especially the second one. If it was not for this class I probably would have never read Scott Adams book “How to Fail at Almost Everything and Still Win Big”. This book was amazing and was an inspiration for me. The book taught me valuable lessons on failure and to never give up chasing your dreams in business or personal. I feel that I have gained insight on what it’s like to be an entrepre...

Venture Concept No.2

Opportunity:             There is an undeniable need for an expansion of parking in certain areas in Gainesville, Fl. Having lived here for the past three and a half years and have personally went through the struggles of street parking, I can confidently say that there is an opportunity that can be take advantage of. The issue of not having enough parking can easily be solved, the solution is to put parking lots in areas that are over populated. Almost half of the population of Gainesville are students, and most students tend to live near campus. The problem is when students sign a lease for an apartment they are only given one parking spot. Therefore, if four students sign a lease together then three people have to resort to street parking. Furthermore, Gainesville is not the only college town that has this issue. Further research would prove that other college towns are in need of parking lots as well. Currently there i...

Exit Strategy

Exit Strategy 1)     Because my business will be able to run itself and I will most likely be able to be run on my spare time I plan on holding onto the business as long as it is profitable. My end goal would be that the money I get from this business I am able to pay off the mortgage to the property without having to put any of my personal finances in. If everything goes well I will eventually look to sell off the property of the garage lot when the real estate market is hot. 2)     Because my business is going to be much different from traditional a traditional business I plan on holding it for a while. The main reason is that it won’t be time consuming and it’s a way to have extra money coming in each year. 3)     I believe I came into this project with the mentality that I wanted a business that could be self-managed and have minimal costs. I know exactly how big the business can grow and the risks involved.   Final Reflec...

Reading Reflection No.3

1) ·        What surprised you the most? There were a couple of things that surprised me when I read this book the first interesting thing was that Steve Jobs was actually adopted, I thought that was surprising because I never knew that. Another thing that surprised me was that he was a very solitude type of person and worked best when he was by himself. ·        What about the entrepreneur did you most admire? I admired his raw talent and his motivation to be great. He was a very self-motivated person and was extremely brilliant. He dropped out of college and still became a successful business man. ·        What about the entrepreneur did you  least  admire? His situation with his business partner did not end the way it should have. Steve Jobs could have acted in a more mature manner and could have come to a better conclusion with Steve Wozniak. ·   ...
