Whats Next?

For the existing market, I talked to two people that currently have their own spaces at their apartment and one person that did not. For the two that have their own spot they agreed with my venture concept and even brought up points that I did not think of. They told me that some apartment complex’s charge extra rent for a parking spot so I would be able to directly compete with their prices. The other point they brought up was to figure out a way to incorporate scooter parking. The other person I talked to liked my idea but was very iffy on price, she said that most likely her parents would pay for her. She did however say that it would be cool if there was a security guard on hand at night. Her idea was that I could have a security guard there for girls who want to be walked home by someone late at night. Overall I learned a lot from these three people and are looking up ways to implement their ideas.

            For the new market, I talked to my land lords on seeing if they would be willing to lease out extra spots within the apartment complex. The idea would be that I would provide middle man service and connect people who wish to have their own spots with apartment complex’s that have the extra space. When I talked to my friend about this idea he thought it was great idea and wanted to know why they don’t already do that.

Reflection:


I learned a lot from this assignment and has even brought up new ideas and thoughts that I can contribute to my opportunity.  Furthermore I have a more rounded view on my business venture and will be able to apply the ideas to tweak my business model.

    I think your interviews seemed very thorough and it looks like you got some very interesting input from the people that you spoke with. I also think that your idea of having a "middle man" will help your concept be even more successful. Great job on this assignment, it will be interesting to see what else comes from this idea.

    Good job on this post! I think your interview is very targeted and helpful for you to know the existing market for your opportunity about the parking spots. Knowing customers' needs in something important and necessary for a business like that. I also like your thoughts on the new market. It seems like almost all people live in an apartment wants their own parking spot especially in place like the college town. Great work overall!

    I think that this idea is a real winner. Some apartment complex's charge over $200 for a spot which personally, I think is just outrageous. I also really like the idea of having a security guard on the premises. not only would that provide an extra measure of security who don't feel safe while walking home at night but it also will help to prevent car theft. I think with this added security measure, you could even charge a slightly higher price. Great job!
