Halfway Reflection
1)
Discipline and hard work are requirements in
order to keep up with this class. Overall the class has been great and I feel
that I am learning a new way to think about business. Furthermore, in order to
succeed in this class, you must work at the assignments over the week, just
doing a little bit each day goes a long way, and that takes discipline.
2)
Overall this class has helped me develop a new attitude
toward school work. In this class, there are many assignments and it can become
overwhelming at times if you do not keep up with the work. During the first
month of the class I was waiting until 3:00pm on Fridays to start my
assignments for the week. DON’T DO THIS! You will quickly feel very stressed and
scramble to find people to interview for your assignments. This past month I
have been doing a little bit of an assignment each day before I go to sleep,
and I have found that this is the best way to achieve success in this class.
3)
The first tip I would give a new student is to
pick a topic that you are passionate about when it comes to the project. If you
choose something you care about then you will try and do your best on each
assignment. This will also help the student earn skills to have tenacious
mindset. Another tip I would give is that you work at this class a little bit
each day and not wait to the last minute to do the assignments. One thing I
love about this class is that you have all week to do 3 assignments and if you
just do ½ and assignment each day your life will be stress free. The last tip I
would give a new student is when they think they are all caught up and have
nothing to do there is always more to do. All of the assignments are available
to students and if you have nothing else to do you should get a head start and
work on the next assignment.

I like the tip you give to up and coming students that says pick a topic the you are passionate about when it comes to the project. I find it very true that because I chose a topic in an area of interest for me, I have a much easier time doing the work for it. I can't imagine if I would have just chose something easy that didn't interest me because then I wouldn't have the motivation to come back and do a new blog every week. Great tip and great post!
ReplyDeleteHi Connor,
ReplyDeleteI agree with you that discipline and hard work are key ingredients for success in this course. I like that you said that students should find a topic that they are passionate about. I feel like this helps a great deal in coming up with material for this course. I agree with all of your key points and I hope to hear from you throughout the course!
Conner,
ReplyDeleteI agree with your first tip about selecting the topic. The topic is the most important thing for the assignments because almost all works are related to the same topic. Therefore, a passionate topic can help students to enjoy doing their works and make them do their works a little easilier. I also agree with you that do the works ealier because it is not enough for students to think and develop their ideas.
