BUG LIST

1)    Parking around Midtown/Downtown/Sorority Row. There are numerous apartment complexes around these areas that are packed with college tenants. However, the apartments do not have enough parking. This leads to parking far away from your apartment on the side of the road.

My bug is: Not enough parking.

Why: Apartment complexes did not build enough parking spots for each tenant.

2)    I personally do not have a scooter, however many student depend on scooters for transportation. Scooters are dangerous and it is not required or enforced to use helmets.

My bug is: When driving a scooter, you should wear a helmet for your safety.  

Why: Young adults do not want to wear a helmet (it’s not cool).

3)    In today’s day and age, we rely on the internet for just about everything. As college students, we need the internet to be able to connect to canvas, as an adult you use the internet for business and email. When your internet connection is inconsistent it is very frustrating.

My bug is: internet connection inconsistencies.

Why: Devices require more internet then internet suppliers provide.

4)    It seems when you first buy a new cell phone the battery can last for 2 days without being charged. Fast forward two years and your charging your phone throughout the day in order to be able to use it.

My bug is: cell phone battery’s that don’t keep a charge.

Why: Over time battery’s in cell phones go bad

5)    Coins! Loose change, I just don’t get it. I rarely find myself using penny’s or nickel’s anymore. The only time is find it useful is when I am at chick fil a and my bill is $9.02, and even then, I’ll just hand over a ten-dollar bill then accumulate more coins that I’ll never use.

My bug is: I don’t want coin’s or change.

Why: Its money and people want their change back from their purchases

6)    Dirty sneakers are the worst. You go out and spend around 100$ for a great pair of Nike sneakers and then within one week there black and gross looking. You try cleaning them and putting them in the washer but it’s just not the same.

My bug is: Sneakers that get dirty.

Why: The ground is very dirty so therefore shoes get dirty

7)    I go fishing in the Bahamas quiet often and just a few weeks ago I hooked up on a monster yellowfin tuna. It took me a hole hour to real that sucker in. As it got close to the boat a huge shark came and took a half of the fish.

My bug is: Sharks

Why: Sharks live with fish and at the end of the day that how nature works

8)    You’re driving down the highway headed down to Miami and your cruising along going 80 mph and then suddenly a huge semi pulls out the left lane. Now your slowing down to 60 mph and you have to wait for a massive semi-truck to pass a car.

 My bug is: semi-trucks and slow traffic in the left lane.

Why: Semis are trying to pass a slower vehicle and therefore it causes a traffic jam

9)    At my parents’ house, there is an outside owning that was originally red, after having it for a year the color has changed due to the sun and now the owning looks orange.

My bug is: Things that fade due to the sun.

Why: The suns light is powerful.

10)  Have you ever had a drink that you ordered and it got hot, the ice melted and now it’s just watered down.

 My bug is: Ice that melts in your drink.

Why: It gets too hot and the ice melts

11) I love my dog, she is the world to me! However, it is very frustrating when after she goes outside she tracks in dirt all over the floors.

 My bug is: Dirty paws from my dog.

Why: The ground is dirty

12) My dog also sheds like it is her job! I am constantly cleaning up her hair from the floors and from the couch.

 My bug is: Dogs that shed like crazy.

Why: It is a genetic trait that dogs have.

13) Turn signals are there for a reason! Many drivers don’t use the signal anymore and it can be frustrating and dangerous at times.

My bug is: People who don’t use turn signals.

Why: People are lazy.

14)  The chip reader for credit cards and debit cards is horrible! There was such a good system before, all you had to do Is swipe and you were done. Now we have to insert the card and wait a while. Half of the time it doesn’t even work and we end up swiping our cards.

My bug is: Chip readers for credit/debit cards.

Why: The process takes too long.

15) Bluetooth connection is awesome…, when it works. I find that in many cases before I go on a run that my beats aren’t connected to Bluetooth and it takes a while for it to get connected.

My bug is: Bluetooth inconsistencies

Why: Poor connection

16)  It is very annoying when you pay big money for cell phone service and calls still get dropped. Every cell phone carrier says that they have 99 percent coverage of all the U.S yet calls get dropped from the best national cell phone carriers.

My bug is: Calls that get dropped due to poor service.

Why: Poor cell phone service

17) As I am sitting in Marston trying to complete this bug list the door on the fourth-floor squeaks so loud every time it opens up.

 My bug is: Doors that squeak in the library

Why: The door looks pretty old

18) Have you ever bought a new shirt and got to only wear it once because once you dried the shirt it shrank?

My bug is: Shirts that shrink from being in the dryer.

Why: Cheap material

19) I find that on campus it is extremely hard to find a fast and healthy place to get a quick bite to eat.

 My bug is: No healthy food options on campus.

Why: Healthy food is more expensive

20) People who go to the library tend to need to have an outlet, weather it’s to charge a phone or their computer. However, there are not enough outlets for the number of desks in the library.

My bug is: Not enough outlets in the library.

Why: Too many students with too many devices that need outlets.

Reflection:

            At the beginning of this assignment I was chugging along and wrote down eight bugs with no problem. After that the assignment got very difficult. Overall it made me realize that there aren’t too many things that actually “bug” me.
